If you are a lover of denim, then there’s a chance that you have heard of Georges Marciano. He is a designer that has been creating quality, timeless, and impeccably tailored denim garments since 1978, but has now launched a new line of apparel for both men and women that takes classic styles and gives them a modern twist.
One of Georges Marciano’s new men’s designs that are available on www.georgesmarciano.com is the GM- Sutter Western Shirt. For years, it seems that the prominent colors of denim were all about the darker shades like indigo and ink, but the lighter shades have now re-immerged on the fashion scene. This western style shirt has a mix of lighter and darker bleached denim tones, as well as the pointed detailed stitching along the shoulders that mirrors the flap button pockets. Created in 100% lightweight cotton, it will not be stiff and will move with you.
Another take on the same style of men’s shirts is the GM- Shutter Western Shirt. This one has similar stitching details as the lighter denim one, but they are more muted with the richness of the indigo and medium, splashed-on looking denim wash. I also like the details of the rounded hemline and the ability to roll up the sleeves in both fabrics. Either can be purchased for $175, which may sound a little pricey, but not when they are from an iconic denim designer like Georges Marciano, who creates items that reflect the past with a cutting-edge appeal.
If you are not a denim person, but love traditional designs like the Polo shirt, then the GM- Polo may be for you. This shirt is constructed of 100% quality cotton, has a nicely tailored it with the point collar, button-down neckline, and perfect sleeve/body length. This would be fantastic with a pair of jeans or khakis and can be purchased for $85, in a myriad of colors to fit your style.
While men’s fashion has gone through numerous changes over the years, quality construction never goes out of style. This is the brand philosophy behind Haxby Collective, a new menswear line created by Michael Dow and Timothy White.
Haxby is all about creating contemporary menswear that lives up to the quality of past purveyors of men’s fashions. Savile Row, those iconic tailors that dressed the men of London in years past, is just one inspiration shared by Dow and White.
The resulting line is comprised of things like jeans, sneakers, and many great accessories guaranteed to turn heads. Unlike other contemporary men’s brands, Haxby insists on handcrafting all of their pieces, taking these common items and turning them into something unforgettable.
Emphasizing Quality Over Convenience
The creation of the Haxby line involved extensive research that took place all over the globe. The results of this two year mission, which involved compiling only the best in raw materials and crafters, can be seen in Haxby’s debut pieces, which include many great items perfect for work or play.
Gorgeous materials are made even more stunning by the level of craft that goes into each piece. Unlike the automated processes that feature greatly in most clothing lines, the minds behind Haxby insist that all items are handmade. This results in a level of detail that must be seen to be believed.
Classic Footwear Gets a Boost
While most men’s footwear puts the emphasis on function over form, Haxby sneakers eschew a utilitarian aesthetic in favor of all-out class. This is wholly evident in the sleek cordovan leather used in construction, in addition to the hand-buffing that each pair undergoes before they are ready for sale. Each pair is meticulously crafted in Montegranaro, Italy, and features a classic design that can easily go from casual wear to more formal attire.
So Much More Than a Pair of Jeans
While jeans are a staple of many wardrobes, they don’t often possess that wow factor typically found in luxury clothing. Haxby has changed all that with their amazing line of hand-crafted jeans. Featuring a number of great styles, Haxby jeans are created from only the finest denim available utilizing the tried and true methods of quality garment creation. Even the accents are labored over, featuring hardware derived from precious metals and gems.
Accessories Complete the Look
Much like the rest of the line, Haxby really ups the ante when it comes to accessories. Belts are crafted in Switzerland and Italy, and utilize only the finest materials available. These include stainless steel, along with hand-cast gems. Haxby’s eyewear collection is also quite stunning, thanks to the keen attention to detail. All Haxby glasses come courtesy of Japan’s world-renowned Masunaga Optical factory, which entails a 200 step process to create just a single pair. The inlay is available in either a 24K yellow or white gold, serving as yet another example of Haxby’s devotion to detail.
Style, Beauty, and Quality in One Package
From head to toe, Haxby has what it takes to turn a lackluster wardrobe into a sight to behold. These introductory pieces are merely a sampling of what to expect from this up and coming menswear designer.
For women's fashion.
In case you missed it, one day last month, April, marked the 15th celebration of Denim Day, an annual violence prevention day focused on raising awareness about abuse and violence against women and children. Working to get everyone talking about such an important topic, many sponsors including Dasha Wellness & Spa, Moroccan Oil, and D.I.D Nail Paint helped put together an incredible event.
There’s a reason we practically grew up in denim pants, they’re stylish, they go with anything, and they are pretty durable. No matter if you ripped them, cuffed them, or turned them into shorts- we’re betting jeans were and still are a major part of your wardrobe.
While studies have shown that leggings are officially the new ‘it’ item for young girls who have strayed away from jeans in favor of ‘athleisure’ pants (yes there are studies done about what type of pants young girls are wearing!). We don’t believe denim is a passing fade (despite the sale of leggings sky rocketing) and aren’t ready to give up our favorites just yet.
So to honor the baggie pants of our high school days and skinny jeans of our weekends nowadays, here are our favorite ways to wear denim. With so many options, you can leave your workout clothes where they belong, at the gym!
1. As pants because there’s still something so great about a pair of jeans that fits just right. AG Adriano Goldshmied’s Stilt Roll Up Jean is the perfect pair for the warm weather with there laid back feel and skinny legged fit. Perfect to complement those new summer sandals you just bought!
When it comes to buying cloths for work, it is possible to tailor your outfit to meet the demands of almost any job or environment. Knowing how materials perform in various conditions is important to ensuring that you end up with the perfect combination of fibers for the environment you find yourself working in. The following workwear tips should help to clarify what materials you can choose from as well as the properties they provide to the garments they are used to make.
Cotton is popular because it is light, durable, and breathes (allows moisture to move away from the body). The term “duck” refers to the way in which the cotton is woven. Cotton duck fabric is exceptionally durable (it was once used for ship sails), second only to leather in its ability to block wind, and one of the softer fabrics used in workwear (it gets softer with washing).
You may think of men’s jeans as a most classic, unchanging piece of clothing. Yet, the subtle changes this may involve lead to great effects – think about what happens with butterflies. Although less obvious, there are successive trends in men’s jeans as well. What do we have in store for this fall season then?
The denim pieces to be worn this fall are narrow and straight mostly, but not skinny. It may sound more like the classic cut, but it still keeps the grunge streak, especially since we have various washes combined together. As for the length, anything goes from traditional to shortened. It is adjustable, so anyone should feel free to shorten the jeans and wrap them up as desired and as required by their height. Trim them as you wish, it will certainly not look awkward for the coming months. In any case, any nice pair of slim jeans would go with a Concept Clothing shirt; heck, any nice pair would even go with a Maison Martin Margiela t-shirt, which aren’t exactly the friendliest shirts in the world (see below!).
Color-wise, the gray shades are back in the business. Blue, black and beige stay in, but in darker washes. Prints are also allowed, continuing the spring and summer trend. Moschino and Versace have gone to a great extent in printing the jeans for fall 2013, using abstract or graffiti-like patterns. If colored is not your type, the regular distressed, medium-wash denim is a safe option and will be seen in most stores.
Visual textures will be a highlight of the season. As in Diesel look book and not only, the coating has become an essential part: you can have jeans with a wet surface look or a texture that resembles leather. Fall 2013 comes with more masculine and complimenting jeans trends.
The Brokn Legend brand of men’s hats has the belief that hats are more than just a man’s accessory, they are a “companion on his journey” through life. The cap style hats are constructed of high quality indigo denim fabric and have a “Vintage” look about them with the distressed brim and cap, which makes them look like they has been with you a long time, even though the hats may be new to you. The Vintage style patches that are applied to the crown of the cap remind me of the different patches that used to be collected years ago and sewn by hand to clothing. They usually meant something to the wearer, like a state that you had travelled to or to mark a special event in your life.
When you think of blue jeans, you probably can’t remember a time when they were not part of your wardrobe. Since the first jeans were brought to market in the 1800’s by Levi Strauss, they have evolved in style. One such product of the jean evolution has been the cut-off jeans.
