When you are on the hunt for designer clothing, you can wait for a sale at the department stores, browse the “brick and mortar” boutiques, or check out the other option of consignment shops. Over the last few years, designer consignment shops have become an increasingly popular option for women and men alike. These stores have popped up in neighborhoods, cities, and online. At these shops, you can find designer clothing, accessories, and shoes at prices that are well below their competitors. Sometimes the merchandise appears hung like with wholesale clothing racks while in other instances expect to see a plate of glass between you and the goods. Typically, the items that you find will usually be gently used, but could even be new with tags.

Men’s Fashion Trends - Fashionable Shoes for Fall 2012

One trend that always seems to be “in” is camouflage. This year, not only can it be found in clothing, but now it has been spotted in men’s shoes. Jimmy Choo has a cool looking loafer style shoe that combines green, brown, and black in a camouflage pattern. Now, you can keep your clothing colors neutral and pop a pattern with an unexpected colored shoe.
For Fall 2012-Winter 2013, Jimmy Choo also makes a high-top chocolate brown leather sneaker that is the perfect transition shoe from Fall to Winter with the higher shaft at the ankle to keep the chill and precipitation out. Just don’t forget to treat them with a leather protector or your investment will not stay good-looking for very long.

Men’s Fashion Trend: Looking for Boring Golf Shoes? You Won’t Find Them Here!

I knew that there were many different kinds of men’s golf shoes out there, but I never realized how right on trend some of them are. A prime example is the collection that I spotted, made by Prada. They take the trend of bold colors seriously in the pair of yellow, white, and baby blue leather golf shoe with the overlying fringe. It’s kind of a preppy look that you could see with a coordinating plaid pant or shirt. Then, Prada takes the golf shoe to the next level by adding gold-tone and gemstone colored studs. It would be a little “bling” to spice up your solid colored polo or trousers.
The next golf shoe that plays right into the always popular animal print is the “Joy Men’s FJ Icon Snake Print Golf Shoes”. They have a flange of white leather running from the heel, across the laces, down to the tip of the shoe and the sides have a panel of great looking python print. I would even consider wearing them off the green, if you needed a great looking shoe in a pinch.

Musings on Men’s Fashion - What to wear to the slopes

Skiing! The puffy pristine snow, hot coco in the log cabin, exponential increases in downhill speeds: who doesn’t enjoy a trip to the mountains? We all look forward to skiing holidays (or wish we could afford them), but even though you might be taking a white vacation from the daily grind, that doesn’t mean you can to take a holiday from dressing to impress. When you’re out there on the slopes, be sure all your attire (hat, scarf, jacket, etc.) works together as an ensemble. Don’t wear yellow snow pants with a pair of tie-dye gloves or else a Yeti, driven by bile, might attack. As for the trendy stuff ready for consumption this year, fur is pretty much a big no-no (what with the success of PETA et. al’s marketing campaigns) but faux-fur is smiled upon for once. Designers like Patagonia and Gorsuch included several snazzy parkas and fleeces in their collections this year. Nylon vests have also made a comeback - even Prada has a few in the works for the coming season. As for footwear, Uggs have hit the market with new, ski-friendly designs that both men and women can enjoy. Whatever the case, be sure to look hot and also stay warm!
26. Solid color outfits (sans suits)

INFEASIBLE: Any solid color outfit that isn’t black

Guys, far and wide, time and again, solid color outfits are just a bad idea. Either they look like pajamas (see above) or they are just unsightly, especially if the entire fucking thing is something stupid like yellow or orange. Accessories like a belt or tie may make some solid-color outfits more bearable for the rest of us, but not by much. I’m telling ya, not worth your time and money to look like a ray from a rainbow.
Feasible: Solid black outfits

This coupling in particular might work. Might. The shades of black aren’t identical, but a killer belt could save the day. Trend carefully.

18. Khakis and shoes

INFEASIBLE: Light-colored khakis with black, green, or red shoes

Khakis are a finicky thing. I’ve previously discussed how khakis don’t work with some types of shirts, and now it’s time to talk about how light-colored khakis simply don’t work with some types of shoes, in this case shoes of particular colors (i.e. black, green or red). Just look at the picture above; how could anyone think shoes that look like they’ve been through a pound of manure could ever work with that nice pair of smooth gray khakis?? Seriously, the color/chino of the khaki just accentuates the shittiness of the shoes. Anyways, red and black shoes never look particular nice with them either (and I don’t care what they say).
Feasible: Light-colored khakis with brown shoes

Now brown shoes go splendidly with any light-colored khakis, even brown ones I dare say. This pair from Zappos would work no doubt (and not with just khakis, mind you); but if you’re willing to dish out for a pair that goes perfectly with light-colored khakis, allow me to introduce you to these babies:
