Tee With Lace Details

Lace is both sexy and classy, not to mention versatile. This summer, you can recycle your plain t-shirts and turn them into lacy head-turners in a few simple steps. Start by taking a plain t-shirt and cutting out the neckline, shortening the sleeves and taking a little off the bottom. Then, fold the shirt in half and cut the top half of the back off. Lay the lace on top of the now-cut t-shirt back and trace the shape to match the front. Then, all you need to do is sew the back and shoulder seams and you’re ready to go. Once you have the supplies, it only takes about 45 minutes. That old Aerosmith t-shirt you thought you’d never wear… now it’s a lace-backed sexy club shirt.

DIY Peekaboo Bustier

Lingerie is a staple in any girl’s wardrobe, whether it’s Victoria’s Secret or sexy Yumdrop lingerie, Summer is the time to show it off. If you want to show off your favorite underwear style without causing a traffic accident, it’s easy to make your own bustier top. A bustier top can be paired with a skirt, slacks, or even a blazer for the office– or you can add rhinestones and studs and be a hit on the beach or at the club. Simply purchase stretchable fabric (or use an old shirt with a cute pattern) and your favorite bra. Lay the bra over the fabric and measure along the under wire and around the back. Leave 1/4 of an inch for the seam. When you’re finished measuring the fabric, it should look like a long rectangle with two under wire-shaped scoops in the front. Next, sew a hem on the bottom of of the fabric and pin it under the top of the bra. After the fabric has been sewn to the bra, it’s up to you to decide what sort of closure you’d like in the back. For an ultra sexy look, add eyelets and lace it up, or for a more conservative look, a zipper works too.
