Men’s Fashion Review: Sette Regal Navy Necktie

Designer Robert Jensen, who has been a crafter of luxury neckwear for more than 30 years, paired up with company Founder Peter Watkins to form Sette. The name “Sette” is actually derived from the Italian word meaning “seven”. They recently sent me one of their fine ties to review.

Each Sette necktie is a limited edition and is handmade. The Pure Collection has only seven of its kind made and the Classic Collection allows only twenty-one of the same necktie to be created. Sette has access to the finest silk weavers in the world and each tie is hand crafted in Como Italy, each with individual numbering.

This particular luxury, silk necktie is done in a true navy silk. The fabric is natural will hold the rich color well. It has a hand crocheted slip stitch and bar track on the underside of the tie and the “seven fold” design provides the perfect width and weight. It is also weighted perfectly. The use of micro-patterns and stripes here blends nicely with any dress shirt or suit and still give the tie a luxurious, iridescent sheen.

At $265, it is an investment, but it is a unique accessory that will last a lifetime. This gorgeous, silk necktie has the ability to set you apart from the rest. It is definitely for men who strive for the absolute best. To quote the company, “Sette is confident and bold, not flashy or trendy. A Sette and its wearer embody a classic, powerful elegance that is noticed for the right reasons.” Two thumbs up!

Got one for my boss. While pricey, the quality and craftsmanship is easily evident. He appreciated the gesture and now has a tie that will outlast just about everything else in his wardrobe. These are the types of things that become heirlooms.
