One of my favorite men’s accessories for this time of the year is a great leather watch. It not only tells time, but completes your look.
The Tsovet 38mm Watch with Leather Band has the quality of a Swiss movement, the classic style of a round face with clean numbers, and the elegance of a saddle brown, pebbled leather band. For $200, it can be dressed up or down.
Most men choose a belt for its function, but it also can be a stylish men’s accessory. With the added texture of the woven brown leather, the Anderson’s Woven Leather Belt is a great way to add some interest to a pair of pants. At $175 it may seem a little pricey, but the quality of the leather and Italian craftsmanship will be worth it.
As far as wallets go, I like the traditional bi-fold because it is less bulky and easier to find what you need. The J.W. Hulme Co. has one that is 100% cowhide, has 6 card slots with 2 pockets, and a lined cash compartment for $125. The rich color of the leather is a nod to its American construction.
Every business man needs a terrific briefcase. J.W. Hulme also makes the American Heritage Portfolio Briefcase for $695 that comes in the same rich leather with a wrap-around zip, a laptop sleeve, and exterior pockets. The rolled leather handles, shoulder strap, and brass hardware are the perfect accents.
Lastly, is the Marc by Marc Jacobs Leather Backpack for $498. It is a stylish way to carry everything that you need and still be hands-free. The black leather backpack has main, side, and zip pockets, as well as adjustable leather straps. It is the perfect accessory for city travel.
For women's fashion.
Giving season is clearly upon us, so we’re pretty sure you’re already considering what to offer your beloved ones. So here’s a helping hand – a small gift guide for the fashion-driven ladies in your life. You know the type – their closets are bigger than anyone else’s yet they never have anything to wear; they know what’s in and what’s out before anyone else does; and they always look impeccable no matter the time of the day.
When you are out shopping for men’s wallets, there are the basic styles of bi-fold and tri-fold. Essentially, it is just a matter of preference. The bi-fold is a little wider in shape, but the tri-fold is a little thicker to carry. Also, there aren’t usually a huge selection of leathers except for black and brown. One exception to the rule, thankfully, is the British Racing Green Billfold Wallet by H&B London.
Its rich green color, which happens to be close to the Pantone Color of the Year for 2013, is something that will blend well with the deep browns and tans of the Fall/Winter season. It is made of Buffalo calfskin, which is a heavier leather and much more durable than other, more widely used leathers. It has a substantial amount of card storage what with cozy eight slots and the interior is lined with a navy silk, making it even more of a luxury accessory.
There’s a lot of cool, DIY/indie/whatsayyou-ism going on fashion-wise at the worldwide handmade shop site, Etsy. One Star Leather Goods is one such craft store on there, specializing in leather wallets, notebooks, belts, etc. Let’s see how their One Star Billfold in Redrock wallet fares in a close review.
This is an excellent wallet. As promised, it is clearly handmade and hand-stitched. Like most fine leather products, this wallet will only look better with age. I can easily see the dark reddish brown giving way to streaks and stretches of cherry red while the stitching will remain strong and intact.
