Celebrity Fashion Spotlight – The 65th Annual Emmy Awards

September 22, 2013 was the 65th Annual Emmy Awards at the Nokia Theater in downtown Los Angeles. The Red Carpet was teeming with celebrities as they filed into the theater to see who would walk away with the angelic golden statues for excellence in Prime Time Television.

Along with the choice of nominees, there were the fashion choices. Some were outstanding and some were not. The first couple up for critiquing is Jon Hamm and Jennifer Westfeldt. Jon has departed from the usual colors of tuxedos with his cream colored jacket, but I don’t think that it faired very well next to his stark white tuxedo shirt. Now, as far as Jennifer’s dress goes, the bustline is one of the most unflattering shapes that I have ever seen. There is definitely too much “East/West” going on! The dark coral color can be pretty, but the mixed media panels don’t work either.

Next, is the “daddy and daughter duo” of Alec Baldwin and his beautiful daughter Ireland. Alec is looking classy wearing a straight forward style black tux that has an overall sheen to the fabric. With all the weight that he has dropped lately, the jacket could have been a little more fitted. Alec’s daughter Ireland is as glamorous and curvy as her mother Kim Basinger in that nude, high-neck gown with the “bling” in all the right places.

Lastly, are Lauren Parsekia and Aaron Paul. Aaron has a nicely tailored navy tuxedo with the thinner lapels and one button closure. Even a basic looking tux can look fabulous if it is cut and fitted well. Lauren is the perfect example of how sometimes “less is more”. Her gown is a gorgeous strapless with just a wonderful drape of taupey-grey fabric and no “bells and whistles”, but it is very figure flattering. Lauren accessorizes it perfectly with a silvery clutch, a statement necklace, and a loose up-do.

Men’s Fashion Advice – Tips To Look Picture Perfect On Your Wedding Day

Is the “big day” fast approaching and you, the groom-to-be, naturally want to look and feel your best?  Besides connecting with the best wedding photographers beforehand, there are some other, personal things that you can do ahead of time to make that happen. First of all, if you have a tendency to be a “junk food junkie”, you are probably not getting all the nutrients that your body needs. Men’s Fashion News – 2012 Tony Awards: Who’s fashion stole the show?

The Tony Awards, formally called the Antoinette Perry Awards, are an award that is given for excellence in live Broadway Theatre performance. Live theatre attracts many of the celebrities that you are used to seeing in movies and on TV, it is just another avenue for their craft. While I was looking at the men’s fashion at the Tony Awards this year, there were some looks that shined and some that flopped.

One A+ was Hugh Jackman in his traditional jet black tuxedo with wide lapels, classic white button-down shirt, and matching black bowtie. The cut of the jacket gave his broad shoulders great audience appeal. Hugh was being honored for raising significant amounts of money for the Broadway Community, as well as his charity work. As he graciously accepted the honor from his wife, I realized that he is a guy that I have never seen look bad.
