Looking at the trends and what is new in men’s footwear for this Fall, I noticed shoes having duel fashion purpose. Nothing is better than having a little versatility in your closet. The first one I came across at www.macys.com, while I was looking for some youth-approved footwear for a teenage relative.
With a sea of black shoes and sneakers out there, the Ralph Lauren Black Leather Tedd High Top Sneakers still managed to catch my eye. They have the look of a black leather work boot, but the weight and agility of a high-top sneaker. At $87.99, the quality is fantastic and they are the perfect cross-over shoe from Fall to Winter, being also a great choice for work or school.
Next, is an unusual mix of fabric for a man’s shoe. They are the Nike Men’s LeBron Denim High-Tops. They have the styling of a basketball sneaker, but lean also toward a casual shoe with the indigo denim that is surrounded by a black leather anterior foot and heel. It is a great choice for those guys who just hate to wear anything but sneakers and need something that is a little less athletic looking.
Another choice for an on-trend casual footwear for men this year are the Creative Recreation Men’s Camo High-Tops. Camouflage is still a hot pattern in both clothing and footwear for Fall/Winter 2014. This particular one contains the traditional camo colors of tan, green, and brown, which is trimmed in dark brown leather around the laces and along the toe/heel area. For about $100, it is also a casual shoe that can transition seamlessly from Summer, to Fall and Winter too.
Lastly, is a unique combination of the distinct details of the Wing-Tip Oxford and a lace-up leather boot. These creations by Ben Sherman have the ability to cross the line from casual to a semi-formal style of dressing. Tucked under a pair of dress pants, it would be hard to tell that they are a pair of boots. However, I could still see them working with a pair of cargo shorts, some bulkier knit socks, and a button-down plaid dress shirt.
When it comes to Spring and Summer, it’s not only time to change out the wardrobes, but also time to take a look at what’s new in footwear. There is nothing worse than freshening up your clothes with a few new items and leaving your old, worn-out shoes to bring down the look.
This year, some of the top designers have revealed their men’s footwear collections for Spring and Summer. The first pair is from the design house of Jimmy Choo. It is an update on an old favorite: The Boat Shoe. This iconic, nautical shoe style has been enhanced with a more textured navy leather upper and a dark stitching along the white sole for interest. I could see them with your favorite jeans and a white polo shirt.
Next, is a pair of light grey lace-ups by Emporio Armani. With these shoes, texture is the key to what makes them interesting. The thick white sole looks like it would make a comfortable walking shoe, but I probably would wear them with a darker trouser to make them stand out.
Another one of my favorites in a slip on shoe style is this brown, black, and orange camouflage pair by Givenchy. Camo is a huge trend in all accessories this year and these will be the focal point of any neutral outfit.
One look in men’s Summer footwear that never seem to go out of style is the Gladiator-style sandals. This pair by Dolce & Gabbana offers plenty of foot coverage with the laced-up leather overlapping from the toes to the arch of the foot and leather heel support. This look would be a great pair of khaki cargo shorts or more dressed up with a pair of white linen pants.
Lastly, if you are more of a minimalist when it comes to Summer footwear, then the David Beckham endorsed K-Swiss flip flops with the multi-colored rubber sole and black fabric thong straps may do the trick.

Military fashion was initially popularized during the 60s, and it has made a comeback. Military clothing comes in khaki, green, beige, blues, and olive hues. Patterns tend to mimic service uniforms from all branches of the military. Trench coats, baggy pants, berets, and jackets mostly inspired by the military uniforms of the 20th century are the season’s hottest trend. Military style clothing is a timeless and versatile fashion trend that is worthy of the investment.
