Braun, which is a company that has been making personal grooming devices for years, has come up with a new collection of shavers and trimmers called the Cruzer, which is a system for the grooming needs of a man who takes hair very, very seriously. Again, their target man requires more versatility from his shaver to accentuate the definition of his modern hairstyles and facial hair. We had the chance to try out the Face version on a dude seeking a manly yet nuanced beard.
The Cruzer Face shaver is a cordless, full sized shaver that is heralded capable of a completely smooth shave, trimming beards and sideburns, or just contouring around the edges. We were very happy that the shaver didn’t show any signs of dwindling charge despite being cordless. The LED power indicator would be very handy if you mirror sessions lean towards the lengthy side. It is also able to be used wet or dry – a definite plus if you noticed a nick or patch during the day.
When our subject first cracked the manual though, he was a little intimidated by all the buzzes and whistles. He did complain that it took him a solid 30 minutes to figure out how to program what he was looking for. No joke: this dvice allows you to adjust the trimming of your hair and beard up to twelve different length settings to get a range of styles. Once he got a handle on it though, he found the shaving experience to be pleasant and unobstrusive. The blades of both the trimmer and the shaver itself are sharp and uncompromising. It only took him about 20 minutes to go from scruffy to as polished as he was looking for.
We greatly recommend the Cruzer Face if you’re serious about your facial hair. Otherwise, stick to something a little less complicated. And, for your entertainment, here’s a cute and funny promo from Braun:
