Oakley, an eyewear company that was established in 1975, is considered one of the hottest brands of sunglasses around. They have styles to fit every taste and activity level, being known for the quality of their products.
One particular style, Oakley Frogskins Polarized Glasses, are a vintage look that has been modernized through its material and lens quality. In reviews, they have been described as “lightweight, durable, comfortable, and stylish.” The larger lens is both concurrent with fashion and eye protection by covering a larger area of the eye. It is also 100% UV coated for eye care.
However, what makes these glasses stand apart from the rest is the lens shading and polarization. This particular style comes in: Matte Black/Emerald Iridium Polarized, which is a great dark green color; a Matte Black/Ice Iridium Polarized, which leans more towards the blue tones; and Matte Black/Ruby Iridium Polarized, which is a sunglass lens that is more of an orange sunset color. The lens color is basically a matter of preference, but the darker tone lenses are generally great for those individuals who need more light deflection or younger eyes that have the ability to adapt more quickly to lighting changes.
As my eyes get older, without the rest of me of course, I tend to lean more towards the lighter lens because it is easier to see in dimmer places. With either choice, the polarization is key! It allows you to see things without glare, which is a major safety factor.
The price of $160 is about average for a great pair of sunglasses, however, make sure that you have some scratch-free microfiber cloths for cleaning and a case to keep them looking good for longer if you are going to make the investment.
