Like I’ve mentioned so many times before, I’m a total wallet nut and need to replace my favorite accessory at least twice a year. I was recently approved to test out the Bellroy Note Sleeve in Blue Steel and, given my fascination, I grabbed the opportunity (especially since the item sells for a pretty penny pretty much everywhere). Does the price reflect stellar quality?
Needless to say, the bifold Note is very stylish and switched together most elegantly. The material, a vegetable tanned cow leather, is soft and holds onto its contents snugly (like a sleeve!). Speaking of space, even when filled with 10 or so plastic cards, cash, a check, and a few coins – yes, there is a cozy coin pocket in the fold – the wallet never bulked up or got “bumpy”.
One general attribute of this particular entry in the Bellroy wallets collection that makes it truly outstanding is the obvious attention to detail and handiness. Not only does it come with that coin pocket, but it also comes with a complementing stash pocket and the interior pocket comes fitted with a pull tab! I can’t tell you how many times I’ve seen people ripping at their wallets to try and dig out a random business card – you won’t ever have that problem with a Sleeve.
As I mentioned, this wallet is very stylish mostly due to its dark blue steel leather AND fun, tasteful black-and-white interior pattern. Also, while the brand name and logo do appear on the piece, they are embossed, tiny, and only noticed upon very close inspection.
All in all, this is an excellent wallet form Bellroy and I highly recommend it. Be sure to check out the Wallet Shoppe for a closer look and to browse other fashionable men’s wallets.
