Just about a week ago, was the 48th Academy of Country Music Awards Ceremony. It is an event that honors entertainers in categories like “Female and Male Vocalist of the Year”, “Top New Entertainer”, and “Entertainer of the Year”. This ACM was held at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas. As per all celebrity events, the Red Carpet was rolled out and the “Stars” wore their fashion best. However, some choices were much better than others.
first one that is up for discussion is the singer, songwriter, and talented instrumentalist Hunter Hayes. His nicely tailored eggplant suit with narrow lapels, fitted shoulders, and slightly cinched waist looks great with the jet black open dress shirt and animal print belt. The saturated color and infusion of an unexpected print keeps the look modern and fun. It is also a great compliment to Hunter’s hair and skin coloring.
Next, is Scott McCreery. His average light navy blue suit is a little long in the jacket for his stature. One that is a little shorter with maybe a one button style would better balance the length of his torso and his legs. The blue and white check tie gives his look a little more life, but I am not so sure about the brown shoes. I know that it is harder to find a good navy shoe – check out Stuarts London or a retailer like Mr. Porter to start off – but that color brown is just distracting. Speaking of distracting, the last Red Carpet that Scott was seen with “Dog the Bounty Hunter” and Mrs. Dog Scott looked a little intimidated by Dog’s wife Beth’s “bountiful bustline”.
Last, is a look that is not quite “Red Carpet Ready”. Joey Martin Feek looks like he was out plowing the fields and milking the cows, but forgot that he was supposed to be at the ACM Awards. He should have worn a decent mens dress shirt underneath at least. His wife’s orange and blue ombre dress with western style cross-over leather belt is as about as fancy as you can get with your husband in overalls, but was more suited for a night of “two-stepping” than the Red Carpet.
