Commerce is changing rapidly and responsiveness is the new trend. People don’t just buy because advertisements tell them what the new trend entails – social platforms have provided a new era of organic, word-of-mouth marketing. Ecommerce has exploded in the last 10 years, providing opportunities in entrepreneurship with low start-up costs via ecommerce platforms. If you have something to sell, whether it is software, information products, or even fashion, there is an ecommerce platform that can turn goods into cash.
A new mobile application has emerged as the first ever to provide fashion and social trend setting functionality to the consumer on the go. ASAP54 is a new mobile application that combines the social fashion community with the latest in visual recognition technology, allowing women to hunt down and share fashions instantaneously. This powerful application is revolutionary in many ways, but mostly provides an amazing experience for fashion enthusiasts and new comers alike.
Changing the Fashion Industry One Style at a Time
Inspiration – Pinterest was the pioneer in visually appealing inspiration for individuals across the globe. For ASAP54, think Pinterest specifically for the fashion industry, with a little social love on the side. Women are not just shopping anymore for fashions set forth by clothing brands across the world – they are living the experience of trend-setting ideas. Inspiration for fashion creates real-time, current clothing trends that allow women all over the world to express themselves through style and have fun with friends while doing it. Sometimes words are not enough and a picture is worth a thousand of them – ASAP54 solves this problem with flying colors. If you’re still not inspired through social interactions with friends, there’s no reason to sweat – ASAP54 offers a unique team of in-house stylists that will cater to your every desire.
Point-of-Sale Buying Opportunities – When women shop for fashion it can be a lengthy process where emotions are high and credit cards are out – they want to buy but don’t have a safe, secure opportunity to do so online. Does this fit me? Will I truly get what I want? How does this look on me? All of these questions are answered with ASAP54, where women are able to customize their fashion purchases and safely commit to the transaction with the help of professional, in-house stylists doing the heavy lifting for them. The experience is personalized and customer service is amazing.
Mobile Consultation – Whenever you wanted advice on fashion in the past, you needed to go to a department store or specialty clothing store to ask a sales associate about different fashion trends and how you look in them. Well, not with ASAP54 – you’re able to ask friends, find styles that work for you, and consult with professionals free of charge. The entire shopping experience is brought to your fingertips, on the go, and with the click of a button. Talk about convenience with a personal touch.
Top of the Line Technology – Before ASAP54, women shopped while looking at still JPEGS on a crowded site, full of choices but lacking design elements. These sites like Amazon and eBay, although effective in simple purchases, don’t provide women with the mobile shopping experience that they deserve. ASAP54 provides users with the top visual recognition technology in the industry, allowing women to crop images and find designs from those cropped collections of styles accumulated in their digital closet wish list. The application is free to download and is worth the time to investigate – whether you’re interested in the next big trend or just interested in finding a style that matches your personality. The app is available at www.asap54.com and contact information is also available for women interested in the next big thing.

Summer is here and people are out and about for special events, traveling, or just to enjoy the great weather. It’s also the perfect time for celebrity spotting.
One guy who was spotted out for some exercise in Paris, during a film shoot was actor Simon Baker of the television show The Mentalist. Being the stylish Australian man that he is, you would expect nothing less than having him ride through the streets in a timeless, white button-down shirt, a pair of black casual trousers, and summery black leather slip-on sneaker/shoes. Simon’s style of shoes can be purchased at www.net-a-port.com as the Common Projects Leather Slip-on Sneakers for $455 or for a lower price tag, as the Vans Classic Slip-ons in perforated leather for $60 at Zappos.
The next celebrity spotting was Will Ferrell and his family, as he traveled through an airport. Will really managed to disguise himself as the Average Joe in his printed grey t-shirt, baby blue pedal pusher length shorts, and canvas slip-on shoes. My eyes are drawn immediately to the black socks and I wonder how his wife let him get away with that one. No style award for you today Will!
One young singer that always tries to maintain her cute-level is Taylor Swift. She is photographed here in a vintage-looking, cropped-length peach and white gingham check top with a high-waisted light green shirt. Taylor’s outfit is totally tied together with her peach and tan leather sandals and of course, her matching beige leather purse. Taylor perfectly captures the young lady-like look.
The last celebrity sighting of the week to discuss is super model Heidi Klum strolling the shops with one of her little ones. Heidi has a 70’s vibe going with her floppy beige sun hat, white embroidered tank top, patch pocket boot-cut jeans, and square heel tan leather sandals. Heidi’s brown leather, saddle-style bag and gold-rimmed Aviator sunglasses are the perfect accessories. A similar vintage- style bag can be found by the designer Patricia Nash at www.countryoutfitter.com, currently for $127.95. It has the rich brown leather and is called the Women’s Barcellona Saddle Bag in tan.
Summer time is a popular time for movie releases and this month is no exception. One blockbuster sci-fi feature of the summer is “Transformers: Age of Extinction”starring. Since the film has a family appeal, the red carpet also includes children, as well as the adult celebrities starring in the movie. One example is the Wahlberg clan. Mark looks handsome in his navy plaid suit with bright blue, striped tie. His wife Rhea is dressed simply, but elegantly, in a black dress, but pops it with a pair of salmon pink pumps. The Wahlberg children look absolutely adorable with one boy in a grey sports coat and sneakers, the other boy in a plaid button-down and white jeans, and the daughter in a cute black skirt with blue top and strappy sandals. Actor Kelsey Grammer rock some brights on the red carpet of Transformers with his orange printed tie, light blue button-down, and navy sports coat. His white trousers just scream “summer” and balance the other colors nicely. While on the topic of balance, is it just me or is the promotional wall covering especially tacky this time around? The event coordinators and event marketers could really use a look wallcover.com and its host of tasteful wallpapers, from Versace SS 2014 to abstract collages of pastels. Just saying! Also, on the Transformer red carpet was actress Teresa Daley and actor Austin Lin. Lin took a fresh approach with his graphic t-shirt, leather jacket, and bi-color shoes. Teresa chose an unusual burgundy dress with mesh straps, which could have fit a little better and the turquoise sandals throw off her look. However, Teresa’s hair and make-up are beautiful. Last, but not least, is Executive Producer Steven Spielberg who has a more preppy approach to red carpet fashion with his white collared shirt that is layered with a thin navy sweater and navy sports coat. Steven’s light grey jeans keep the look casual.
Being a celebrity, means that you are always in the public eye. Whether they are walking the red carpet, strolling to their favorite coffee shop, or arriving at their new movie premier, chances are their image will show up in a photo. Some of the photos taken will be flattering and some, not so much.
The first musical celebrity that I have to review is Justin Beber. Lately, the only photos that we have seen of him have been mug shots, but this one of him at an AIDS benefit shows a classy young man in his double breasted dark suit with wide lapels and contrasting, stark white button-down shirt. The pushed up sleeves of Justin’s suit jacket and the rolled up cuffs of the dress shirt keep his look hip and allow him to show off the ink on his forearms.
On the opposite end of classy spectrum, unfortunately, is Welsh Actor/Singer Luke Evans. I am usually a fan of plaid suits, but this Fendi blue/grey abstract plaid suit that Luke wore to the One for the Boys Charity Ball in London is not a favorite. The abstract, scratchy design plaid makes him look like he is hiding multiple “spare tires” around his waist. It would look a little less overwhelming if Luke took the trousers and paired it with a solid grey/taupe colored jacket, while keeping the shirt and tie as is.
One woman who finds it hard to escape the photographers is actress Gwyneth Paltro, who was seen out and about the streets of NYC. Unfortunately, she is hiding her good looks in this outfit with a baggy navy, polka dot blouse and a pair of wide-leg, black ankle pants. The blouse has no definition and the pants make her legs look short. I do like Gwyneth’s black leather jacket with the cascading front and her matching ankle boots.
Last, but not least, is English TV Personality/Model Lauren Pope. She is pictured here strolling the streets of Marbella, Spain. Lauren looks stunning in her black bloussant top with leaf print, high-waisted shorts. The outfit is accented perfectly by her strappy black leather sandals, beige suit jacket, and black leather clutch.
On June 2, 2014 the Council of Fashion Designers of America Awards ceremony was held at the Lincoln Center in NYC. This event is one of the most important nights in the fashion world. The group’s president Diane Von Furstenberg is a world class designer in her own right. This year’s honors featured Public School’s Maxwell Osborne and Dao-Vi Chow for the Menswear Designers of the Year, Joseph Altuzarra for the Womenswear Designer of the Year, and Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen for the Accessory Designers of the Year. Also, the Geoffrey Beene Lifetime Achievement Award in Fashion went to well-known designer Tom Ford.
As at every event, there are red carpet arrivals that “wow” and those that do not. One of the wows at the CFDA Awards was Bridget Moynahan from the hit TV show Blue Bloods. She looked absolutely regal in this gorgeous, radiant orchid gown by Lela Rose. The strapless top and fitted bodice, along with the pleated waistline was the perfect “princess” look in this satiny creation. Bridget also keeps the focus on the dress with no necklace or bracelet, just some dangle earrings and a few rings.
Next, is the twosome of Jewelry Designer Kara Ross and her red carpet partner. She is wearing a conservative brown maxi-dress in a shimmery brown and gold fabric, but her red carpet mate is sure to stand out in this electric orange suit jacket that is accented by black bottoms, a crisp white shirt, and black tie. It kind of reminds me of a creamsicle!
One outfit that made the not so wow category was worn by Kate Foley at the CDFA Awards. It was a formless midi-dress done in blue and black geometric striping. The high, mock- neck collar, shapeless bodice, and layered frill at the bottom makes me think more of “granny” than an attractive woman. However, I do like the black ankle strap sandals and the dangle earrings.
The last red carpet arrival in the “OMG” category was Actor/Comedian Chris Kattan who was wearing black short-shorts, a multi-layered black cape, shiny patent leather boots, and a black ascot. He looked like Dracula that fell out of the 1970’s. Sorry Chris, but you don’t have the legs for that outfit!
When celebrities are away from the red carpet, they are still very much in the public eye. Whether they are out shopping in Beverly Hills, arriving at their favorite bistro, or taking a walk in the park, there is always interest in what they are doing and what they are wearing.
This month’s celebrity couple street style includes actress Vanessa Hudgens and boyfriend Austin Butler, who were spotted at the 2014 Coachella Fashion Festival. Vanessa had adopted golden tresses to replace her long dark hair, which complimented her Bohemian look with her wide brim sun hat, tomato red printed mini-dress, and her short black leather boots with fringe and dangling metal trim. Vanessa’s boyfriend Austin also gets into the Bohemian vibe with his brown fedora, white gauze button-down shirt and blue medallion patterned pants.
Next, is a photo of Kim Kardashian and Kanye West, pre-marriage, strolling down the Rue Pierre Charron in Paris. Kim has on this heavily beaded grey and black dress that not only looks like it should weigh a ton, but also looks like it should be hanging off a curtain rod in a museum. The only thing I like about the outfit is her black boots. I am more a fan of Kanye’s more casual choice of his multi-layered grey hoodie with the black two-way zip jacket, baggy blue jeans, and black and white print sneakers.
On Sunday, May 18th at the MGM Grand Hotel in Las Vegas, celebrities came out to celebrate the presentation of the Billboard Music Awards. The awards ceremony started in 1989 and are based on musical artist popularity on the Billboard Charts in the musical industry. This year, the Artist of the Year was Justin Timberlake and the Song of the Year went to Robin Thicke for “Blurred Lines”.
As with any event, the red carpet at the Billboard Music Awards was filled with fashion Some of the celebrity outfits were fabulous and some, not so much First is Singer/Song Writer/Actress/TV Personality Kelly Roland, who arrived on the red carpet in this sexy, two piece black number with a beyond-plunging crop top and split-panel, high-waisted long skirt Kelly’s stacked golden bangles and substantial dangle earrings give the overall look an exotic flare However, there should be no bending over in this dress.
